Miles Raymer’s Sharp Darts article in the Chicago Reader this week is about the Shape Shoppe, a studio space that I live at, and Obey Your Brain, a record label that I work with. To celebrate the launch of the label, we’re curating a show at the Hideout, tomorrow May 23rd, with performances by Icy Demons, Killer Whales, Buffalo Stance, and Golden Birthday. Today Chicago is Riding in Silence

May 21, 2008 by Renata

There is a bike ride today leaving at 6:45 from the Daley Plaza, to honor 3 bicyclists killed in accidents since the beginning of the year in the streets of Chicago. It is a single-file ride, like a funeral procession, for 12 miles through the city.

TimeTube: YouTube Video Timeline

May 19, 2008 by Renata

Have you heard of TimeTube? It is an online interactive timeline that arranges YouTube videos by date. Each video is placed on a timeline, more popular videos appear larger than the unpopular ones. You can pan, zoom and watch the clips on the page. TimeTube gives you more than one way to look at all these videos: timeline, list view, flipbook, and geolocation.

For now the timeline is arranged by when the videos were uploaded instead of created, which could make the timeline inaccurate. Maybe in the future they can figure out a way to keep the timeline precise. That would make for a powerful tool and a fun way to navigate through videos.

Does anyone know if there is a timeline app for flickr?
