Revolutionary Minds: Seed Magazine

March 29, 2009 by Jeremiah

Seed Magazine interviews some of the most extraordinary artists and thinkers of our time. The work is truly blowing my mind right now. Be sure to check it all out. Yugo’s application of the web…whoa.

from Seed re: Design&Architecture:
Design and architecture translate ideas
into objects we can hold, touch, or occupy, or into visuals we can interpret and understand. At its best, design takes on our most inspiring and troubling questions and forces us to confront implications we might otherwise not have imagined. Increasingly, science and technology are driving this dialogue.

The Revolutionary Minds featured here are at the vanguard of this new movement, with their work firmly rooted in science. The drawings, structures, renderings, and sculptures of these designers and architects expand and clarify our knowledge of the world around us, demonstrating that design is an integral step in the scientific method.

Selected Works 2005–

March 27, 2009 by Jeremiah

Plural is working with Shannon Benine on many projects. This spring we will be finishing up her stationary set, new website, and hopefully a few more books. We just finished a limited edition run of artist books. We decided to keep it simple. Our thoughts were on photography, grayscales, layers (and revealing them), and creating a delicate experience – a selected view into Shannon’s carefully-composed and detailed work. 32-pages: designed, printed, trimmed, and bound all by hand. We’re pretty pleased with the outcome so far…

March 25, 2009 by Jeremiah

The 2009 Twitter TakeOver is making blogs, like this one, hard to come back to, well, kind of. Read what all your favorite designers have to say all day long… Tweeeeet was created by the talented crews: cypher13 and quickleft. Definitely check their work out, I dig it, though I’m not so sure about those sunglasses…
