On Friday, May 29th Hamilton Wood Type and Printing Museum will begin a weekend-long celebration of their 10th Anniversary.

Here are some of the events happening at the museum to celebrate their big 10.

A sneak-preview of Kartemquin Film’s Type Face. This one-hour documentary showcases the successes and challenges that Hamilton Wood Type faces.

May 30th 10am–6pm
This day will be a wood type dream day with demonstrations of wood type being cut on a pantograph, and printers demos.

The museum will also have on display posters donated by designers and printers from acrosss the country to celebrate the anniversary. All the posters are letterpressed. A partial list of printers includes Dennis Ichiyama, Richard Zauft, Nick Sherman, Bill and Jim Moran and many others.

Last weekend I took a trip to Hamilton to print a poster for the show. Here is a peak of the poster we produced in a day at the museum.
