EPIC: The Arts of Life
From January 25 – March 18 / 2010 Plural was one of three host offices for the EPIC 2010 Winter Rally. For 8 weeks, our team met every Monday night to lend our creative talents to The Arts of Life.
On our EPIC team: Renata Graw, Jeremiah Chiu, Jennifer Jawor, Tim Miller, Colleen Wilson, Lynne Nagel, Tammy Baird, Mike Garvey, Olivia Leigh, Gary Rozanc, and Dan Kinsella.
Established in 2000, The Arts of Life is people with and without disabilities creating an artistic culture to realize [their] full potential. With studios in both Chicago and Glenview, [they] have provided a supportive space for over sixty artists for the past ten years.
Tim Sarrantonio, the Arts of Life Outreach Coordinator, came to us in January asking for help with their 10-year campaign. The 10-year campaign had already employed volunteer designers around the city and has established a direction and plan of execution. We thought it would be best to think long-term, start from the bottom up. After assessing the campaign and the overall identity of the organization, we evolved a plan that focused primarily on creating a strong foundation that would carry the Arts of Life in to future.
What we developed was:
>> a refined logo
>> a brand guidelines and standards manual
>> an identity/collateral system (including letterhead/envelope/business cards/postcards),
>> an annual report
>> a general information brochure
>> a redesigned website
We were very lucky to have a great team that allowed us to be extremely ambitious and still pull off a large set of quality work in such a short time. If you have the time, I suggest you participate. For more information on EPIC, check out IamEpic.org
