Jason Lazarus says: The Michael Jackson Memorial Procession, organized and led by Chicago based artist Jason Lazarus, is a re-imagining and harnessing of the sonic space that became so dynamic when Michael died one year ago.  At 6pm on June 25th, a 50 car-long caravan will proceed from his boyhood home in Gary, IN and travel throughout the city of Chicago, IL. To honor and celebrate his legacy and place in our cultural consciousness, each car in the procession will be marked with screen printed MJ flags and synced to a curated Michael Jackson play list, providing a ‘multiple-blocks-long’ traveling audio blanket. The procession seeks to create a collective experience of remembering and reliving Jackson’s legacy by creating a temporal, sonic memorial.
